ÚPMD / Pregnancy Registration

What do you need to receive prenatal ambulatory care at UPMD:

  1. Due to the increasing number of deliveries in most Obstetrics Units in Prague, we advise all pregnant women who wish to deliver at the Institute for the Care of Mother and Child to register for their birth at our Institute as soon as possible, usually as soon as they receive their Pregnancy records.

It should be noted that our monthly limit is 380 pregnant women. We cannot accept registration requests after reaching this limit.

Women who are registered also need to be aware of the fact that in exceptional circumstances, as a result of filling the total capacity of the Labor and Delivery ward as well as the post-delivery wards, patients will not be admitted for delivery but will be referred to another Obstetrics unit.

The mode of registration is possible:

    • In person on the first floor at the front desk, where there will be handed the registration card with the registration number.

Operation period of the card desk for personal registration: Monday - Friday: 07:00 - 15:30, Saturday - Sunday: 08.30 - 13.30. Phone number for information: 296 511 123.

After performing registration it is possible to obtain care at your existing doctor, as long as the pregnancy will not be planned for care at UPMD. After delivery of care the outpatient card will remain at the front desk, this will be important before each individual check up.

  2. Immediately after registering it will be possible to be sent to the pregnancy outpatient department, and immediately after registration sooner or later, according to the needs of the pregnant women, she will be advised and sent for care to the general doctor.

    Method of ordering:

    • Personally at the nurse in the prenatal ambulance
    • Telephone number: 296 511 411

    Requests to the pregnancy outpatient department are possible Monday-Friday 7:30 - 12:00 o'clock, 12:30 - 15:00, Friday 07:30 - 12:00

Attention!! Without registration number it will not be possible to make a request for examination.

The period of ordered control is the period selected by nurses of the pregnancy ambulance to measure blood pressure, fixed weight, and chemical examinations given urine samples. According to the actual accessability of relevant outpatient department necessitating examination by the doctor. The actual availability of the doctor may influence his ability to resolve the actual clinical problem, or resolve acute ambulatory states individually or in some unrequested pregnancies, which is the given character of UPMD as a superconsultative workplace and center, which concentrates risk pregnancies practically without limit to surrounding regions. Given this type of situation, please be patient.
