ÚPMD / FAQ

Do you admit new patients to the gynaecological department? What is necessary for such admission (for example, the medical history file from the existing physician)?

Yes, we, of course, admit patients to our expert and specialised outpatient departments based on referral from the district gynaecologist, patients planned for surgeries and patients with acute gynaecological or pregnancy-related problems (emergency service operating on a 24/7 basis). To the prenatal (pregnancy) outpatient department, we admit pregnant women, registered for birth at the MCCI (see registration of pregnant women) and pregnant women with serious pregnancy-related or obstetric complications.

Regrettably, for organisational reasons, we were compelled to suspend the registration of new patients for regular general gynaecological care. We apologise to all patients who are or were interested in this regular care. We are unable to register more patients because the capacity of our outpatient department is not sufficient for this. The main task of this department is to provide specialised care in addition to the general care provided by district gynaecologists.

We can offer 2 alternatives to the patients who want to be permanently registered at the MCCI. We can refer them to a district gynaecologist who closely collaborates with us and who, if the need for a specialised care arises, will send the patient to the MCCI for treatment, or soon (approximately in summer 2008) we will be able to offer the possibility of registration in our high-standard outpatient departments to those patients who will be willing to make additional payments for a high-standard care. These high-standard departments will be open in the afternoon outside the normal working hours and only experienced certified physicians will work there. In this departments we will be able to ensure comfort, which cannot be quite ensured in the normal operation (we will minimise the period of waiting; we will ensure direct sequence of ultrasonic examination and laboratory examinations; results will be sent by electronic mail; there will be a possibility of telephonic consultations, etc.).
